Pre-Employment Qualifications: Obtain TWIC Card & pass Pre-Employment Physical & Drug Test.
The job description of a Camden Yard Employee has several specific tasks relating to the area that the person would be assigned. Examples included:
- The Maintenance Bldg. where the antifreeze is reconstituted and the windshield washer fluid is blended
- The Crusher Hut where oil filters and drums are crushed & recycled
- The Solvent Hut, where dirty solvent drums are cleaned & refilled with new
- Fork lift operators (training & certification required)
- Samples and unloads trucks of waste oil, oily water, and used antifreeze.
The physical characteristics of this job require the following:
- The ability to remain on your feet for prolonged periods of time
- The ability to work outside and manage the weather accustomed to the north-east
- The strength to repeatedly climb tanker trucks during a day
- The ability to balance oneself while walking on top of the tanker truck
- The ability to work at heights (top of trucks @13 ft & top of tanks @ 25 ft.)
- The strength and dexterity to lift and position fluid hoses to the back of the tanker
- The ability to read gauges & strength to open and close pipe valves
- The ability to pull down overhead self retractable lanyard & attach to back D-ring
- The ability to bend and twist while making hose connections
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (position chocks, maneuver hoses)
- The ability to load & unload tankers & totes
- The ability to use hand and powered tools
- The ability to move drums 500 – 800 lbs. with the assist of a hand truck
- Clean up chemical spills when necessary
- Assist with snow removal (i.e. shovel, spread salt or ice melt)
The job of a Camden Yard Employee requires that they wear the following Personal Protective Equipment, (P.P.E.):
- Company uniform, pants, shirt, jacket
- Inclement weather gear rain jacket & rubber boots
- Chemical resistant gloves (i.e. nitrile or rubber)
- Eye Protection, usually safety glasses, possibly goggles a/o face shield
- Steel toed boots, oil resistant & black
- Bright high visibility illuminated vest or acceptable bright shirt
- Full body harness
- Hearing Protection (either ear muffs or ear plugs)
Tractor Trailer Driver
Pre-Employment Qualifications: Obtain TWIC Card & pass Pre-Employment Physical & DOT Drug Test. Drivers must obtain a DOT medical card. Drivers must hold a {CDL} Commercial Drivers License – Class A with tanker & hazmat endorsements. Drivers must also have a “clear” MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) and obtain the approval of our Vehicle Insurance Carrier {XL Insurance}. Candidates must also pass a road test, including a driver’s pre-trip inspection and the ability to couple and unhook a trailer monitored by an approved Lorco licensed driver.
A Lorco Tractor Trailer Driver has multiply responsibilities that go beyond just driving either a tanker or box trailer. Some of the tasks beyond the driving include loading and unloading product (Fluids – i.e. waste oil, antifreeze, windshield washer, oily water, etc.) in and out of the tanker trailers. Also, assisting in the loading and unloading of box trailers (mostly drums – empties, or full with used oil filters, solids or waste parts washer solvent). This individual must also perform daily pre & post trip inspections. Also, be able to accurately maintain the invoices and associated paper work, including all DOT required documents i.e. Driver’s Daily Log. The physical characteristics of this job require the following:
- The ability to work 8-14 hours a day, (usually 5 days a week) with the time divided between driving and stopping at customers’ sites. Also the ability to be flexible with working hours.
- Able to work early morning starts when necessary i.e.: 3:30 am, 4:30 am, etc.
- The strength & ability to repeatedly climb in & out of the truck’s cab, & on top of tanker trailers & into the back of box trailers. All drivers must be able to: climb, squat, crouch, bend, push & pull.
- The strength to transport with the assist of a drum dolly (manual hand truck)
55 gallon drums of fluid, solids or used oil filters that weigh between 500-900 lbs.
- Properly clean up product spills when necessary.
- The ability to bend and twist during the course of a day & to lift up to 50 lbs.
- The ability to work outside, with north/east weather & drive in all four seasons
- Must be able to communicate (verbal & written) & maintain a professional business relationship with all customers, managers, co-workers & any government or law enforcement agencies.
- Have a good sense of direction and the ability to interpret a map, minimizing the possibility of getting lost, or traveling on restricted roadways.
- The ability to grasp & understand the safety requirements of specific customers (Exxon, Shell, Kinder Morgan, etc. and achieve competency in OSHA 40 hr., LPS, API, training etc.
- Follow Facial Hair Policy and have the ability to wear a respirator, if required.
The job of a Lorco Petroleum Services Tractor Trailer Driver requires that they wear the following Personal Protective Equipment, (P.P.E.):
- Company uniform, pants, shirt, jacket
- Flame retardant (FR) coveralls
- Gloves – Chemical resistant gloves (i.e. nitrile or rubber) or Cut resistant gloves (i.e. kevlar or ata)
- Hard Hat & Hearing Protection (plugs or muffs)
- Eye Protection, usually safety glasses, possibly goggles a/o face shield
- Steel toed boots, oil resistant & black
- Bright high visibility illuminated vest
- Inclement weather gear rain jacket & rubber boots (when necessary)
